From the NRA President
I have just contacted Wellington Electricity, the company responsible for the local electricity distribution network regarding the number of outages we have been experiencing in Normandale over the last week.
They advise that they were all related to the stormy weather, with clashing wires and contact between wires and vegetation the most common factors. These can cause cascade effects with safety cut outs tripping up and down stream of the actual fault. These have to be restored in sequence once the actual cause has been identified and corrected.
Wellington Electricity have today also been inspecting all lines in the area to identify other potential risks and are working with Treescape to address these.
